Privacy notice

This notice describes the personal information processed across Unit Inc., Unit Stock and Unit Suite, and the choices available to account holders and their contacts.

Last updated: 17 August 2026

Information we process

We process account and contact details, workspace membership, company profile information, customer and supplier contacts, documents, payment records, stock records, uploaded evidence, support messages, security logs and technical information needed to operate the service. Payment-card details are entered into the payment provider's hosted checkout and are not stored by Unit Inc.

Why we use it

Information is used to provide and secure the service, create and deliver business documents, manage subscriptions, answer support requests, prevent abuse, meet legal obligations and improve product reliability.

Service providers and international processing

Unit Inc. uses providers for cloud hosting, authentication, database and file storage, transactional email and payment processing. These currently include Vercel, Google Firebase, Resend and Paystack. Information may be processed outside South Africa, subject to appropriate contractual and security safeguards.

Retention and security

Records are kept while an account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards where needed for legal, accounting, security or dispute purposes. We use access controls, encryption in transit, restricted server credentials and workspace separation. Account holders must also protect passwords and team access.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access or correction, object to certain processing, request deletion where retention is not required, or complain to South Africa's Information Regulator. Requests are verified to protect the workspace and other people's information.

Workspace customer data

A business using a Unit product decides which customer, supplier, employee and stock-operation information to enter and is generally the responsible party for that information. The service processes it to provide the requested Unit Inc., Unit Stock or Unit Suite features. Account holders must collect and use that information lawfully.
